End of May. As we’re heading into June, not gonn End of May. As we’re heading into June, not gonna lie, my spirits are soaring 😎. Time for hats 👒, and sunscreen and lots and lots of tan lines. And gelato 🍨! Although some of us would argue, every season is the right season for gelato.

I hope you have had a wonderful May, and I wish you an absolutely stunning June ahead.
Breath-in deep. Relax. And strap in for the ride. See you 😍.

Chocolates were first introduced to  the court of Chocolates were first introduced to  the court of Versailles by King Louis XIV. During the mid-1700s, the first chocolateries popped up over Paris, and today chocolates are one of the most popular souvenirs for anyone visiting Paris to shop for. This particular shop is one of the oldest in France.
Though not a complete fan, I do enjoy chocolates with salted caramel and pistachio flavours . What’s your fav flavours?

L'ombre d'un arbre et le soleil d’ore 🌳☀️ L'ombre d'un arbre et le soleil d’ore 🌳☀️. Couldn’t focus on anything but the shadow of the tree, its existence an invitation to imagine what its delicate branches might actually look like.
What’s the loveliest lights without the shadows its casts! And this was a particularly glorious golden hour in Paris.
Hope you’re having an awesome Sunday.

Head down to the edge of île Saint-Louis, and on to the tiny triangle at the very end of the this teeny island: Square Barye.

Named after sculpture Antoine-Louis Barye, this tiny triangle offers splendid views of the Seine, while being leafy, and calm, with plenty of yew, cedar and acacias trees to satiate our nature-starved hearts 🍃🌳.

This French secret is in Chartres, a super day-tri This French secret is in Chartres, a super day-trip from Paris.
Maison Picassiette literally translates to the house of the plate thief, the name playfully attributed to it because of the creator’s penchant for reusing broken crockery.
This house and now-museum was the brainchild of mad genius, Raymond Isidore, who built this piece of art between 1938-1962. News of this crazy art project spread across France and even Picasso visited this hidden gem in 1954.
Isidore’s day job was a grave sweeper at the cemetery, and his creations are inspired by his relationship to religion, with images of Christian symbols and characters, animals and cathedrals, including the nearby cathedral of Chartres.

Ive been away from Paris for 2 week, and although Ive been away from Paris for 2 week, and although I am very happy with the break, I have started feeling a tad bit homesick. I miss my husband, our home, and my neighbourhood.
In that spirit, here’s a photo of one of my most oft-frequented places. If you follow my IG stories, you know how often i post from here 😂.
These photos was taken in the middle of April, when we had some beautiful sunny days. Hope you like it.

Cité Florale is a hidden gem in Paris with quain Cité Florale is a hidden gem in Paris with quaint small streets and cul-de-sacs, with houses and apartments arranged around small gardens and green spaces.

Located in the 13th arrondissement, many of the buildings here are in the Art Deco style, with intricate details and colorful facades, many of them covered with blooming vines.

This place is well worth a visit for anyone interested in architecture, urban nature or simply seeking a quiet escape from the city.

Wander through the narrow streets, admire the architecture, stop to smell the flowers, but do not be noisy, pesky or intrusive: these are home of real people. So being respectful of their privacy should be a prerogative.

The Theory of Catastrophes believes that natural h The Theory of Catastrophes believes that natural history has been intermittently punctuated by catastrophes that altered natural life on earth 🌏.

One of the chief architects of this school of catastrophism was Georges Cuvier, remarkable scholar, naturalist and founding father of paléontologie 🦕 🦖 in France. It is in his honour that this street in Paris is called Rue Cuvier and the fountain here is also built to pay homage to him.

The fountain represents natural history with motifs of marine and amphibious animals. The tablet contains a Latin verse by Virgil, that Cuvier lived by : rerum cognoscere causas 🔎. It translates to something like ‘Happy is he who can know the causes of things.’

I love this street btw. Will write some other time about my saunters here. For now, Ill hope you enjoyed this teeny paragraph about Monsieur Cuvier. Have a great rest of your week! See ya in my stories 🙂
